My name's Claudia Nieuwoudt. I'm a clinical assistant professor in Obstetrics and Oncology at Atrium Health, Wake Forest Baptist. I work in practices predominantly taking care of pregnant women and women seeking gynecological care. I see myself as a patient advocate. I prioritize patient's safety really, and really one of the folks in your corner. I'm a big believer in explaining things visually, so I'm probably going to draw a lot of pictures, but I think that helps translate medicine into a more palatable, digestible form. We're building families. We're not just providing clinical care, and it's so important through the ups and downs of pregnancy and childbirth and the postpartum period thereafter and after delivery, really, we continue to take care of families and mothers are really the cornerstone of families and outcomes for children are better when their moms are doing well. So I see that as continuing beyond childbirth.
