Biography

“I strive to connect and empower patients with the following goals in mind: to maximize physical functioning, foster independence and improve their quality of life.”

Dr. Galang is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He has clinical interests in interventional spine medicine and pain medicine.

He uses a multi-modal, non-opioid approach to reducing pain while incorporating the latest minimally invasive technology for interventional treatment. This technology represents the growing list of treatments aimed at reducing patients’ pain, improving their quality of life and reducing their reliance on chronic medications.

Dr. Galang received his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine and completed residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at East Carolina University.

During residency, he received the President's Citation Award by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He was also awarded the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Spirit Award.

He completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal medicine, focusing on non-surgical musculoskeletal care, at the Cleveland Clinic. He completed a second fellowship in pain medicine at the University of South Florida, where he was named the Fellow Educator of the Year.

Dr. Galang was on the faculty at East Carolina University and Case Western Reserve University, where he taught musculoskeletal ultrasound courses. His research interests include the application of regenerative medicine techniques to musculoskeletal and spine care with the hope of providing innovative solutions for patients.

In his free time, Dr. Galang enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his growing family.
