Biography

I am an academic forensic pathologist and neuropathologist. I am also the co-leader of the Neuropathology Core of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). My research interests focus on the postmortem diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders and tissue banking. My clinical practice is primarily pediatric and adult autopsy pathology, where I have a particular interest in traumatic injuries of the central nervous system and seizure-related fatalities. As a native North Carolinian it is a privilege to give my patients a voice and I am honored to serve the families of western North Carolina.
