Nationally Recognized APP Fellowships – Multiple Regions, One Experience

Our Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship program provides Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) with structured, hands-on clinical training and professional development opportunities that accelerate competency, foster leadership skills, and enhance career trajectories in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Advocate Health serves as the enterprise umbrella for regional areas represented by Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care, serving the Midwest (Illinois and Wisconsin) and Atrium Health, serving the Southeast (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama).

The APP Fellowship program is nationally recognized, serving APP Fellows across four geographic regions. It engages specialty Physician and APP leadership to maintain consistent quality and standards. This model ensures APP Fellows benefit from enterprise-wide resources, shared best practices, and a unified professional and specialty curriculum, while also gaining distinctive experiences relevant to the specific region and specialty. By combining local expertise with centralized oversight, the Fellowship Program fosters collaboration, expands professional networks, and delivers a comprehensive learning experience that will prepare our APP Fellows for success within our enterprise.

Having operated fellowships for over ten years, Advocate Health’s expansion into these areas allows for seamless offerings throughout the organization. Collaboration between regions further enriches curriculum delivery and enhances learning experiences for all. The APP fellowship features high-quality clinical rotations, mentored professional activities, immersion into systems-based practices and experience with clinical scholarly projects, all aimed at shaping well-rounded, confident, and capable APPs.

Ideal Candidates 

The APP fellowship experience at Advocate Health is ideal for new graduate NPs and PAs as well as experienced APPs wishing to change their specialty of practice.  Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, dedicated to learning and accepting feedbackfeedback with the intention of refining their practice to best serve the populations and communities who seek care at Advocate Health. 

Candidate Offers

Once accepted, APP Fellows will train in their unique region, acquire localized healthcare knowledge, build and strengthen region-specific clinical proficiency, while staying connected to the Advocate Health enterprise-wide mission and vision. 

All fellowship tracks are a one-year commitment and offer a $74,880 salary with benefits.
