Learning Experiences

The residency year is composed of 7.5 months of required core experiences, one research month, and 4 months of elective learning experiences. Flexibility allows residents to tailor their experiences to meet their individual career goals. Most learning experiences are one month in duration but some electives are a half month. Residents are also evaluated longitudinally on some experiences, including Projects, Presentations, Antimicrobial Stewardship Management, and Professional Practice Experience. The PGY2 ID resident is given multiple presentation opportunities throughout the year, including Pharmacy Grand Rounds, which is CE-accredited, and many lectures to learners, e.g. ID physician fellows, pharmacy students, and PA students.
