For 16 years, Sportsmen’s Saturday has invested in healthcare close to home, raising more than $2 million to support areas of need. Every dollar raised has stayed right in Lexington.
Past proceeds have supported enhancements and advanced technologies, improving access and quality of care close to home, including:
- Emergency Department upgrades helped enhance patient care, improve efficiency and ensure lifesaving services are available when needed most.
- Support for the renovation of the Hematology-Oncology Clinic expanded patient resources through additional infusion chairs and exam rooms while helping reduce the critical wait time between diagnosis and the start of treatment.
- Renovations to the Surgical Services Facility provided access to advanced surgical care, allowing patients to undergo more complex procedures close to home.
- The purchase of the Da Vinci Surgical Robot brought state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical technology to Lexington Medical Center, enabling surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision.
- The addition of 3D mammography improved breast cancer detection and diagnostic accuracy, supporting earlier diagnoses and better patient outcomes.
- Enhanced physical therapy resources have helped individuals regain strength, mobility and independence following illness, injury or surgery.
