Virginia and Jim Sutton
Virginia and Jim Sutton moved to Winston-Salem from Charlotte in 2012. While Jim is a Winston-Salem native, Virginia was already familiar with the city through her time at Salem College, making their move feel like a homecoming.
Since returning to the community, both have become actively involved in local organizations. Virginia volunteers with Friends of Brenner, Meals on Wheels, and the Evergreen Garden Club, while Jim serves on the board of the Old Hickory Council of Scouting America.
Jim and Virginia are members of Centenary United Methodist Church and are proud parents of three adult children, all of whom now live outside the area. They feel fortunate to have Brenner Children's Hospital in their hometown and strongly believe in its mission to provide exceptional care for children and families throughout northwest North Carolina.
Macon and Robert Parsley
Robert grew up in Winston-Salem, while Macon was raised in Raleigh. A graduate of Wake Forest University, Macon was thrilled to return to Winston-Salem when she and Robert married 13 years ago.
Today, they are proud to call the community home as they raise their two children, Brooks, 10, and Wells, 7. Their connection to Brenner Children's began long before they became parents. Robert was born prematurely and spent his first six weeks of life in the Brenner NICU, receiving the expert care that gave him the strongest possible start in life.
That experience has inspired Robert and Macon to support the hospital that played such an important role in their family's story. They are passionate about helping ensure that children and families across the region continue to have access to Brenner's life-changing care. Outside of their involvement with Brenner Children's, they are active members of First Presbyterian Church and Summit School. Robert also serves on the board of Samaritan Ministries and volunteers by serving meals.
