The New Graduate Nursing Residency Program at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is designed to help newly licensed registered nurses confidently transition into professional practice. It provides a strong foundation for clinical excellence, professional growth, and collaborative learning, ensuring participants are supported every step of the way.

Our residency curriculum is thoughtfully designed to combine hands-on clinical experience with professional growth opportunities, ensuring nurses build confidence, competence, and a strong foundation for long-term success.
- Comprehensive Clinical Orientation
Work side-by-side with a dedicated RN Preceptor in a structured, hands-on learning environment that builds confidence and competence. - Professional Development Sessions
Grow beyond the bedside with monthly sessions that foster group learning and focus on leadership, patient outcomes, peer support, and shaping professional identity. - Specialty Education and Unit-Based Training
Specialty onboarding training that consists of a blended learning curriculum with online modules, in-person classes, and practice-based learning alongside peers and interdisciplinary teams in a supportive setting. - Mentorship and Preceptorship
Connect with experienced nurses who will guide, encourage, and support you every step of the way.
How to Apply
Program Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited RN education program prior to hire/start date
- No prior RN experience or less than six (6) months of RN experience in an inpatient acute care setting
- Current, valid North Carolina RN license obtained prior to hire/start date
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

- All completed applications will be reviewed by the Talent Acquisition team.
- Applicants who meet the hiring criteria will be forwarded to the appropriate hiring managers.

- Final employment offers will be extended by Human Resources.
